Privacy Policy
This policy explains how TUCKiT handles information in the TUCKiT iOS app and on tuckit.ca. TUCKiT is designed to keep your card library private and under your control.
Card Library and On-Device Processing
Your card details, images, barcodes, notes, and custom stickers are stored in the app on your device. Card scanning, image editing, barcode detection, and supported intelligent recognition features are processed on your device. TUCKiT does not upload your card library to its servers for routine storage.
Data leaves your device only when you choose a feature that requires it, such as creating an encrypted share link, generating an Apple Wallet pass, contacting support, joining a waitlist, or enabling optional analytics described below.
Optional App Analytics
TUCKiT uses PostHog for optional usage analytics. Analytics are disabled unless you consent in the app. When enabled, analytics may include:
- screens viewed and features used;
- preferences, operation results, and editor tools used;
- card-library totals and grouped statistics such as image count, barcode type, favorite status, and usage ranges;
- app version, iOS version, device model, country from your device's region setting, and event time; and
- a randomly generated installation identifier used to understand activity across app sessions.
TUCKiT does not send card images, barcode values, card names, or notes through app analytics. Analytics are used to understand feature usage, diagnose product issues, and improve TUCKiT. They are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Optional Card Insights and Brand Contributions
If you enable Card Insights, analytics may also include a recognized catalog brand and a standardized card category. Custom categories are grouped rather than submitted as entered.
If you separately choose to contribute brand information, TUCKiT may send a sanitized issuer or brand name, match status, standardized category, barcode type, country, and whether the card was created or updated. Email addresses, web addresses, telephone-like values, unusually long values, and cards in sensitive categories are excluded. These contributions are sent without your analytics installation identifier or session ID.
Your Analytics Choices
You can decline analytics when prompted or turn Usage Analytics, Card Insights, and brand contributions off in TUCKiT's settings. Turning a setting off stops future collection for that setting but does not automatically delete information already received.
Encrypted Shared Card Links
When you choose Share with Friend, TUCKiT encrypts the selected card on your iPhone and uploads only the encrypted payload to create a temporary link. The decryption key stays in the link fragment and is not sent to TUCKiT's server. A shared link is available for no more than seven days; after expiry it becomes unavailable and the encrypted payload is removed during expiry cleanup.
Apple Wallet Passes
When you choose to add a card to Apple Wallet, TUCKiT sends the information needed to generate the pass, which may include the card name, issuer, category, barcode value and format, expiration date, notes, and display colors. TUCKiT's server processes this request to return a signed pass and does not intentionally store the pass contents in its application database. Apple's handling of a pass is governed by Apple's privacy policy and your Apple settings.
Backups
Backup files are created only when you request them and are saved or shared using the location you select. TUCKiT does not automatically upload backup files. You are responsible for protecting and deleting exported backups.
Website Analytics
The TUCKiT website uses Vercel Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights, and Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand visits, referral sources, page performance, and general browser or device characteristics. These providers may process technical request information, such as an IP address, according to their own policies. Website analytics are not used to access the card library stored in the TUCKiT app.
Contact and Waitlist Information
If you contact TUCKiT, we receive the information you submit, such as your name, email address, message, and optional troubleshooting details. If you join a waitlist, we may also receive your platform interest, referral source, intended use, and country. We use this information only to respond, provide requested updates, operate the waitlist, and improve support.
Service Providers and International Processing
TUCKiT uses service providers to operate specific features: PostHog for optional app analytics, Vercel for website hosting and website analytics, Ahrefs for website analytics, Supabase for encrypted shared-card storage and waitlist records, Resend for support email delivery, and Apple for Apple Wallet. Information may be processed outside your province, state, or country, including in the United States, where different data protection laws may apply.
Sharing and Legal Requirements
TUCKiT does not sell personal information. We disclose information only to the service providers needed to operate the features described above, when you direct us to do so, or when disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, prevent abuse, or defend legal rights.
Retention and Deletion
On-device card data remains until you edit or delete it, remove the app, or erase its data. TUCKiT retains analytics, support messages, and waitlist information only while reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, to meet legal obligations, or to resolve disputes. Service-provider backups and security logs may remain for a limited additional period.
You may request access to or deletion of information held by TUCKiT through the contact form. Because app analytics are not connected to a TUCKiT account, we may need technical details to locate a record and may not always be able to associate anonymous records with you.
Policy Changes
We may update this policy when TUCKiT's features, providers, or legal obligations change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
